Pregnancy after insemination
When can you tell if the pregnancy is a singleton or a twin pregnancy?
10-12 days after the pregnancy test, a vaginal ultrasound scan is performed, at which time the gestational sac can be seen inside the uterine cavity.
Does pregnancy after insemination require special care?
No. Pregnancy proceeds normally.
Is there a greater chance of miscarriage in pregnancies after insemination?
No. No. In principle, the chances of miscarriage are the same as in a pregnancy without previous treatment; the chances of miscarriage are mainly determined by the age of the patient.
When the cycle does not end in pregnancy
Can inseminations be performed every month?
Yes. They can be done in a row, as it is not necessary to rest between treatment cycles. Before starting each cycle, the advisability of varying the ovarian stimulation pattern is assessed.
How many insemination cycles can be performed?
According to statistical data, 90% of patients who become pregnant do so in the first four cycles. Therefore, if success has not been achieved after three or four cycles, it is advisable to change technique.
What can be done if pregnancy is not achieved after inseminations?
It is possible that there are other sterility factors that are not corrected with inseminations. A cycle of In Vitro Fertilisation is indicated in which the quality of the oocytes, the fertilising capacity of the sperm and the characteristics of the embryos will be observed.
