Frequent questions

Artificial Insemination is one of the most common procedures in Assisted Reproduction. This technique is based on introducing an optimized semen sample directly into the woman’s uterus. This optimisation process is carried out in our specialised laboratory to guarantee the best sperm quality.
In our fertility centre, we exclusively use intrauterine insemination. During the procedure, a thin cannula is used to deposit the sperm into the bottom of the uterus. These quickly travel to the fallopian tubes, where they meet the oocyte prepared for fertilization. The experience is minimally invasive, quick and does not cause discomfort, requiring no rest afterward. We offer options for insemination using the partner’s sperm or, if necessary, donor sperm.

The process consists of four phases:
  • Ovarian stimulation phase
  • Preparation of the semen sample
  • intrauterine insemination itself
  • Luteal phase support
Artificial Insemination is a basic Assisted Reproduction technique. Its price is usually the most affordable of all treatments. At Institut Marquès we work with the best techniques and the best professionals to offer the best results.
Artificial Insemination can be done from €835.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is a leading and widely recognized technique within Assisted Reproduction. In this method, the union of the egg and sperm occurs under controlled laboratory conditions, either using the couple’s gametes or through sperm donors. Once obtained, the embryo is implanted in the woman’s uterus.
At Institut Marquès, always seeking excellence and the highest success rates, we incorporate intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in all our IVF procedures.
The phases of an In Vitro Fertilisation treatment at Institut Marquès include ovarian stimulation, retrieval of eggs through ovarian puncture, in vitro fertilisation in the laboratory and finally, embryonic transfer to the patient’s uterus. Each step is crucial and requires careful supervision from our expert medical team. At Institut Marquès, always striving for excellence and the highest success rates, we incorporate intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in all our IVF procedures.
In Vitro Fertilization is an investment in your future and that of your family. We offer interest-free financing options to help you make your dream of becoming a parent a reality. Check our base prices for In Vitro Fertilization treatments.
At Institut Marquès you can have this treatment from €5,145

FAQs Pricing

Artificial Insemination

Artificial insemination is less invasive and less expensive than in vitro fertilisation (IVF). In artificial insemination, fertilisation occurs naturally inside the body, whereas in IVF, fertilisation is performed in a laboratory and then the embryos are transferred to the uterus.

The cost of artificial insemination can vary from clinic to clinic and country to country, but generally ranges from 600 to 2,000 euros per cycle. This cost may include medical consultations, ultrasounds, and the insemination procedure itself.

Artificial insemination is usually painless, although some women may experience mild discomfort or menstrual-like cramps during the procedure.

  • Ultrasound to confirm that the uterus and ovaries are fit to start treatment.
  • Hysterosalpingography to confirm the patency of the fallopian tubes. It is necessary that at least one of them is perfectly functional for insemination to be effective.
  • Complete hormone analysis.
  • Seminogram (semen analysis), to confirm that once the semen has been boosted it is suitable for fertilising the oocytes waiting in the fallopian tubes.

In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)

IVF offers multiple advantages, such as the possibility of overcoming fertility problems in both men and women, the option of selecting higher quality embryos and the ability to perform pre-implantation genetic testing to detect possible hereditary diseases.

The cost of an IVF cycle can vary considerably, but generally ranges from 4,000 to 10,000 euros. This price includes the puncture, fertilisation in the laboratory and embryo transfer, although additional costs may apply for services such as embryo cryopreservation.

Embryo transfer is generally performed 3 to 5 days after fertilisation, when the embryos have reached the blastocyst stage, which allows for the selection of embryos with the highest implantation potential.

Unused embryos can be cryopreserved for future pregnancy attempts. There is also the option of donating the embryos to other couples or using them for research.

In Vitro Fertilisation with Egg Donation

To maximise the chances of success, it is important to synchronise the menstrual cycles of the donor and recipient. This is achieved by administering hormonal drugs that prepare the recipient’s uterus to receive the embryos at the right time.

The process begins with ovarian stimulation of the donor to collect the eggs, which are then fertilised in the laboratory with the sperm of the donor’s spouse or a donor. The resulting embryos are cultured for a few days and transferred to the recipient’s uterus.

The cost of IVF with egg donation is generally higher due to the costs associated with donation, such as donor compensation, medical tests and the cryopreservation process. Prices can vary between 6,000 and 13,000 euros per cycle.

Egg Vitrification

The main advantages of egg vitrification include fertility preservation, the ability to plan a future pregnancy without age affecting egg quality, and the flexibility to use frozen eggs when the time is right.

The cost of egg vitrification varies, but generally ranges between 1000 and 3000 euros per cycle, and includes ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval and the freezing process. In addition, there are additional costs for the annual storage of the eggs.

Yes, vitrified eggs can be used in an IVF cycle at a later date. Once thawed, the eggs are fertilised in the laboratory and the resulting embryos are transferred into the uterus to attempt pregnancy.

ROPA Method

In the ROPA method, the eggs of one of the women are fertilised in the laboratory using donor sperm. The resulting embryos are cultured for a few days before being transferred to the uterus of the other woman, who will carry the pregnancy.

To increase the chances of success, it is essential to synchronise the menstrual cycles of both women using hormonal drugs that prepare the recipient’s uterus for embryo implantation at the right time.

Embryo Adoption / Donation

After embryo transfer, it is recommended to avoid strenuous physical activity and to follow the doctor’s instructions. It is important to remain calm and wait two weeks before performing a pregnancy test.

The cost of embryo adoption or donation is generally lower than that of a full IVF cycle. It includes the embryo transfer and the necessary medical tests for the recipient, with prices usually ranging from 2500 to 5000 euros.

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)

The number of embryos to be tested depends on how many are available and the couple’s preferences. It is common to test all available embryos to select those that are genetically normal.

If all embryos have genetic abnormalities, the physician and couple should discuss the options available, which may include performing a new IVF cycle, considering egg or sperm donation, or exploring other reproductive alternatives.
